Brits rethink the ‘job for life’ as millions build extra income from their skills
Fears over the impact of AI on jobs are reshaping how Brits are approaching their careers. Almost half of Brits (49%) believe AI could affect their job or industry within the next five years, with many questioning the traditional idea of a single career path.
Research of 2,000 employed adults found that one in five (20%) worry about being made redundant or losing their main income, prompting 64% to consider earning outside their primary role – with 19% already doing so.
The research commissioned by Airtasker reveals that the 46% earning money outside of a single, full-time job generates them an average of £1,777 in additional income per annum.
Aston spoke to Tim Fung, founder & CEO of Airtasker.
