Surge in GPs treating patients for fake weight-loss jabs searching for ‘summer body’

Alarming new figures haven shown a surge in GP practices treating patients for counterfeit weight loss jabs as the nation’s desire to reach a ‘summer body’ deepens.

New research amongst GPs across the UK found that 86% admit to seeing an increase in treating patients for counterfeit weight loss jabs over the last year. The symptoms patients are being treated for include severe vomiting, diarrhoea, and dehydration.

The research conducted amongst GPs by Asda Pharmacy highlights a dangerous ‘wild west’ in the UK with the most popular purchase spots of these fake jabs being gyms, spas and hairdressers. Given the unregulated nature of the sale of these injections, buyers admit to being given confusing and dangerous advice around recommended dosage.
