Strictly Come Dancing went to the movies

Following the elimination of former Home Secretary Jacqui Smith the previous week, the remaining 11 couples on the show danced to music from soundtracks from the movies.

Last week Eastenders star from Southend, Maisie Smith, and her dance partner Gorka Marquez scored the highest marks from judges on the night with 25.

This time round it was Good Morning Britain presenter Ranvir Singh and her dance partner Giovanni Pernice who scored the highest score this week with 27 (highest score of the series so far) for their foxtrot to song “Love You I Do” from the film “Dreamgirls”. Ranvir and Giovanni scored one point more than comedian Bill Bailey and his dance partner Oti Mabuse who danced a paso doble to theme from “The Good, The Bad and The Ugly”.

The dance off this week featured Olympic boxer Nicola Adams and her dance partner Katya Jones and former NFL footballer Jason Bell and his dance parter Luba Mushtuk.

The judges unaminously chose to save Nicola meaning Jason becomes the second celebrity to be eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing 2020.

The remaining 10 couples dance again this weekend.
