This week’s update was the last of January, however the motorsport front has been packed with great news. Below is some of the biggest news stories last week from F1 and the BTCC.
BTCC:
- Tom Ingram leaves Toyota Gazoo Racing to join Excelr8 Trade Price Cars for the 2021 season. Ingram will be driving a Hyundai I30 N Fastback and will join Chris Smiley and Jack Butel as part of a four car lineup at Excelr8 Trade Price Cars in 2021.
- Jason Plato will return to the BTCC for 2021 after taking a sabbatical last year. Plato will drive for Power Maxed Car Care Racing in a Vauxhall Astra as part of a two car entry for PMR in 2021 with his teammate to be confirmed in due course.
- Goodyear have announced that they will be extending their tyre partnership with the BTCC until 2026 after a new contract was signed.
F1:
- 2009 F1 World Champion, Jenson Button will be returning to F1 in 2021 however not as a driver. Button will head back to his old foes at Williams as he becomes a senior advisor at the team. Jenson Button first made his F1 debut for Williams in 2000.
