No !!! Not on my driving licence – I am an “Old Git” , not a “Boy Racer” ! But I do have a competitive side and lately have thoroughly enjoyed dabbling in the football scores prediction league, “Super Six” , as run by Sky Sports . I am actually in two different leagues, both made up of mates and their friends, some of whom listen to my show and, like me, share a love of soul music and a passion for footy. One of the leagues is slightly stronger than the other with more active players and some very knowledgeable pundits, one who actually winning several thousand pounds on The Sun’s fantasy football competition a couple of years ago … and I am currently just in front of him !! 🙂
My record score for a round is 17 points (the maximum is 30 – and you can get £250k for doing that !) but last week I came one point away from equalling it … and that was a week after scoring a very good 14 points, so I found myself in 2nd place in a 20 player league and was happy with that. Needless to say it had to get a mention on air last Monday ! I don’t normally talk too much about football on the show, it’s all about the music of course, those fab tunes from the 70s & 80s soul, jazz-funk & disco days, but anyone who has listened will tell you I am prone to deviate away from the main topic, dependant upon what banter has come in from my “fan club” on Facebook.
