Neil Gits Woken Up By The Alarm Clock !

That may seem an odd statement to make, but for large chunks of last year I was only ever being strirred from my ” sleep ” by nightmares, cold sweats, the need for a wee, loud cars passing by, dogs barking or almost any other slight noise in the neighbourhood. So how refreshing it has been this year to enter each day to the sound of Whitney Houston, Geoge Benson and other talented singers doing their best through the speaker on my bedside radio alarm clock ( I NEVER set it to “buzz” by the way … ouch !) . Even at the worst of times over the last two years I was able to nod straight off at bedtime, thanks to an overwhelming desire to hide away from the world, but staying asleep for a full undisturbed seven hours worth was proving quite a challenge.

Now it seems those dark days (or rather nights!) are behind me, 2022 has got off to a very satisfactory start and listeners to my show should start hearing the benefits as fresh ideas for soul, jazz-funk and disco gems from the 70s & 80s start to pour into my rejuvenated old head and out again onto my numerous lists of tunes to play ! Last Monday’s show was the first “official” one of the new year, having tidied up a few leftover odds & ends from December and you can hear me sounding almost unbrearably positive on the ‘Repeat Play’ at 5pm this evening (Saturday) – tune in, enjoy the music and feel the love every week !
