A million young people scammed online last year
On Safer Internet Day – Tuesday 11th February – new research from Vodafone will reveal the concerning prevalence of online scams targeting children and young people.
A comprehensive study by Vodafone will show that nearly a million (839,127) young people in the UK have been scammed in the last 12 months.
More than 60% of those targeted by an online scam admit they were financially duped. On average victims lost £103.39 – worth £53m overall in the course of a year.
