A Place In The Sun’s Laura Hamilton on why we could be ditching traditional holidays in 2023

2023 is set to be the year of adventure for holidaymakers, with almost a third (31%) saying they are now bored of traditional ‘wellness’ trips and want to try something more exciting.

According to trends data by travel company Expedia Group*, ‘New Wave Wellness’ trips are set to be one of 2023’s biggest tourism trends with fruit harvesting and forest bathing expected to be very popular.

Wellness trips were a popular choice towards the end of the pandemic, and while the increase in demand of 30% in 2022 looks set to continue, holidaymakers are now more focussed on living their best life now more destinations have opened.
