Friday (19^th July) sees the beginning of ‘National Pub Fortnight’ – a countrywide celebration of how important local pubs are to the communities around them. The two-week long extravaganza will see events and activities as well as the opportunity to grab one of up to 100,000 free drinks.

The British love of the local continues to thrive, as research commissioned alongside the fortnight found pubs are the community spaces Brits feel most happy in (35%). We go there to relax (39%), enjoy the atmosphere (37%) and, of course, get together with friends (36%). So, it’s no surprise that the average Brit attends their favourite public house at least once a week and even made two new friends just from being there.
