Alice Beer giving advice on how to save money on holiday

With the return of travel, it’s the perfect time to get back to spending time with loved ones and making new memories.  And whilst the rising cost of living has left almost all of us feeling the pinch at the moment, it appears it won’t put a stop to Britons getting away this summer.

Despite money woes hitting many at the moment, new YouGov* research commissioned by Wyndham Rewards reveals 38% of respondents are still willing to dip into their savings to be able to go on holiday this year, showing that a long-awaited post-lockdown break is more important than ever.

In fact, so determined are they to have that all-important holiday, 39% expect to spend more on their holidays this year than pre-Covid. While Brits recognise that they find it difficult to set a realistic budget for their holidays and stick to it (32%, increasing to 43% for respondents aged 25-44), 38% of those who go on holiday said they prioritise work and family commitments, rather than spending time planning their trips within the budget.

Aston spoke to TV consumer expert Alice Beer and Julie White, vice president EMEA at Wyndham Hotels and Resorts.
