From towing motorcycles to becoming makeshift maternity wards, caravaners and motorhome owners are not short of stories about unusual situations encountered on the road. A new report by MAYDAY UK Breakdown Cover, provided by Green Flag especially for members of the Caravan and Motorhome Club, has unveiled some of the most memorable roadside anecdotes.

The findings reveal that the main motivation to become a caravaner or motorhome owner is the desire to explore the country, with 68% stating that freedom has been the biggest benefit about owning these vehicles. It also found that whilst over 60% of motorists have never stopped to help another motorist who had broken down on a road; caravaners and motorhome owners are more likely to aid fellow drivers (63%) with the most likely reason to be stranded being mechanical problems.
