Annual guide for vulnerable Brits details how to stay warm this year

The cost-of-living crisis is etched into the minds of all of us – but for those at the coalface of this crisis – the impacts are far-reaching. As we make our first steps into Winter, new health and wellbeing advice is being issued from Royal Voluntary Service to help people get through this difficult time.

The Stay Safe, Warm and Well Guide has been issued for the last three years from Royal Voluntary Service and long-standing partner, Yakult. The guide offers insight, tips and advice on how to get through the winter healthily. It usually looks at the importance of health and wellbeing when it comes to flu and cold season as well as the ongoing threat of COVID.

In 2022, the guide focuses in on how people can survive the winter season – with core advice being around the focus of staying warm.

New research from Royal Voluntary Service and Yakult shows just how far the impacts of the cost-of-living crisis are having on people – however, it also delves into the increased concerns of those who live with a long term health condition creating a double whammy worry impact for them.

Aston spoke to Fiona Longhurst, director of Royal Voluntary Service.
