Antiques expert Izzie Balmer on how collecting can boost your savings

From clothes and jewellery to books and records, collecting has long been a beloved hobby, but for many in the UK, it is also becoming a strategic financial move.

About a third (31%) of UK adults consider themselves collectors, with rare coins being the most collected item.

But collecting is not just about passion; it is also an alternative way to build financial security, with a fifth (21%) of us already selling our unused items for quick cash.
