Are we having a disconnected Christmas?

In the season of goodwill, the importance of connectivity has never been more evident.

However, as families prepare to come together, the reality of the digital divide will cast a shadow over many homes across the country.

With the cost-of-living crisis continuing to impact households, around 8 million families will spend this festive season grappling with not having the connectivity that so many of us take for granted.

A new study from Vodafone has revealed that 90% of people rely on devices such as phones and tablets to stay in touch with friends and family at Christmas. A third of respondents (33%) speak with a loved-one overseas at Christmas, and over two-thirds (67%) use technology to connect with people across the UK.

Aston spoke to Helen Milner, CEO of The Good Things Foundation and Catherine Russell, head of sustainable business at Vodafone UK.
