Bobby Seagull on Thank A Teacher Day

More than a third (36%) of parents have been alerted to their child’s emotional or mental health struggle by a teacher.

That’s according to new research released today to mark National Thank a Teacher Day, a day to recognise and celebrate all those who work in education.

The study, which involved a survey of two thousand parents of school-age children, highlights the changing ways in which teachers are supporting students beyond delivering academic lessons.

The survey conducted for the Teaching Awards Trust also highlighted parents’ concerns related to the role of technology both in the classroom and outside of it.
