Brits admit they take secret cooking shortcuts

Despite the fact that more and more of us are trying to cook from scratch, 50 per cent of Brits admit that they use shortcuts in their weekday evening meals, according to new research out today.

The research commissioned by Waitrose & Partners has shown that while just over half of Brits say they cook from scratch at least four times a week, most want to make food as quick as possible as nearly half of Brits cook their weekday evening meals in 30 minutes or less. Therefore many find using acceptable shortcuts such as pre-chopped, frozen or tinned vegetables or ready-made pastry helpful.
