Brits admit to feeling lonely in the last 6 months

Brits are feeling much lonelier than they were just three years ago, with increased financial woes and a lack of communication and connection.

Those are the findings of research out today by the Post Office.

Of those who have felt lonely in the last 6 months, almost two-thirds (60%) said a lack of connection with other people has been a contributing factor, while almost half (48%) cited money worries as one of the main causes.

The research showed Brits are choosing to visit shops and hospitality venues to cope with the lack of interaction and help combat their loneliness.

Aston spoke to Mark Cazaly, head of corporate responsibility and postmaster Jane Welsh.
