Brits are pimping their picnics

Forget jam sandwiches and a couple of hard-boiled eggs! Research published today has taken a peek into the nation’s picnic baskets which reveals almost two thirds (60%) of Brits are routinely pimping their picnics with artisan lemonade, homemade bread, champagne and hummus.

We have nearly six picnics each summer, equating to one a week during the school holidays – and we don’t skimp on the treats with an average ‘spend’ of £30 on food for a picnic and nearly an hour preparing for an alfresco outing.

Aston spoke to Bianca Harris from Flora about the research and also as what look out for this summer regarding setting up for a picnic this summer.
