Brits’ attitudes towards cheese
Two thirds of Brits ‘hate’ blue cheese – despite having never tried it.
While supposedly being a nation of cheese lovers – with 89% confessing their enjoyment of the dairy product – 39% don’t venture beyond a mild cheddar, increasing to 60% of Gen Zs.
50% said they like to think they’re adventurous with food, but often just stick to what they know.
The research, commissioned by Clawson Farms – producers of the 1912 Artisan Stilton, also found Britain’s most regularly eaten cheeses – with mature cheddar (64%), mozzarella (49%) and red Leicester (40%) being the most popular.
Aston spoke to Bill Mathieson, managing director at Clawsons Farms.
