Brits concerned about a potential ‘twindemic’ this winter

The autumn has started in the UK, the cold nights are closing in and with it comes the annual wave of influenza or flu – and with COVID again on the rise in the UK, experts are recommending eligible populations get their flu vaccine.

While Brits, as a whole, are very good at protecting themselves with vaccinations, two thirds of people still haven’t booked their flu jabs, with what modelling has shown could be an unusually early start to the flu season.

With COVID now being a common part of our lives, three quarters express concern about getting flu and COVID at the same time. In fact, research has found that you are more likely to be seriously ill if you do contract both, demonstrating the importance of vaccinations.

With the potential of a resurgence in COVID, and the potential for an early flu season could put the NHS under pressure – something two thirds of Brits are worried about.
