Brits now pick holidays with their stomachs

With autumn setting in and with moods and temperatures dipping, new UK polling finds that food is the biggest contributor when it comes to choosing our next holiday destination.

We’re a country of “taste‑trippers”: more than half of adults (56%) say food is one of the main things they look forward to on holiday, over a third have picked a destination because of its food.

But also, our adventures are driving our shopping habits at home. When the world becomes easier to see, we take on new habits and influences. According to the research by Wisconsin Tourism Office over half (52%) say dishes and flavours discovered abroad inspire them at home, 47% often recreate holiday plates in their own kitchen.

Aston spoke to Craig Trost, travel taste expert & communitcations director at Wisconsin Department of Tourism.
