Brits predicted to spend billions this Black Friday

As we start to write our lists for Christmas more and more Brits are facing the prospect of a financially lean festive period with 4.1 million UK adults expected to take part in their first Black Friday due to the cost-of-living crisis.

Ahead of Black Friday Weekend where people will be looking for ways to cut the cost of Christmas, VoucherCodes’ Shopping for Christmas 2022 report, produced in collaboration with GlobalData predicts sales will rise to £8.71bn.

Retailers are sensing now is also their time to bring in waves of consumers as several are set to extend their Black Friday promotions to two weeks, and Brits are taking full advantage, with two-fifths of UK shoppers expected to spend more this Black Friday Weekend than in 2021.
