Brits spend over half their annual leave on ‘Life Admin’ instead of escaping for a break
The typical worker uses less than half their annual leave to go on holiday – with the remainder used for things like booking appointments, DIY and life admin.
A poll of employed adults found 40 per cent rarely take a break when off work and instead use their time to get things done.
On average, respondents reckon they only use 42 per cent of their leave allowance for holidays and allocate 11 days of it each year to work through their to-do list.
The research was commissioned by National Rail, on behalf of the rail industry, and found 26 per cent admit to not using their spare time wisely, while 20 per cent claimed to be serial procrastinators.
