Brits unaware a walk is more likely to destress them than sitting on sofa watching TV

New research reveals that many Brits are unaware of the simple ways they can support their physical and mental wellbeing.

Taking a few minutes outdoors in a green space can pay dividends and costs nothing, but more than one in 10 (13%) don’t recognise that spending time in green spaces and bringing nature into their lives can help improve their mood.

The new research from Yakult also shows that 16% don’t realise their mood can be impacted positively (and negatively) by their gut, with nearly half (47%) not knowing that serotonin (the feel-good hormone) is produced in the gut.

Aston spoke to psychologist Professor Sam Wass and dietitian Lucy Kerrison.
