New app launches to empower 480,000 glaucoma patients in the UK.

A new app has been designed to provide vital education and support for people living with glaucoma. It’s called Glaucoma in Perspective, or ‘GiP’ and has been developed and funded by Allergan, an AbbVie company, in partnership with Professor David Crabb at City, University of London and Glaucoma UK.

The app is designed to help patients and caregivers understand the true impact of glaucoma, improve quality of life, and reduce disease progression. It features a step-by-step guide on how to maintain a consistent treatment regimen, and information about the condition.

Aston spoke to Professor David Crabb, professor of statistics and vision research at City, University of London and Dr Susan Blakeney, optometrist and trustee from Glaucoma UK to explain how the app works and how it can help.
