Coronation Street acting legend Sean Wilson on switching to a new career
The “world’s fastest accountant” Eugene Amo-Dadzie has done what many may think is impossible, chasing an Olympic medal with Team GB all while working a full-time accountancy job – even taking annual leave to compete in the World Athletics Championships in Budapest
He’s not the only one who has balanced two very different showbiz and professional worlds.
Sean Wilson, Corrie legend and now business owner, knows about this all too well! This year marks 15 years since Sean founded the Saddleworth Cheese Company, after leaving Weatherfield to pursue his passion as an artisanal cheese maker.
But this support will not be available to all interested in pursuing a similar venture. And, as new research from the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) reveals:
- 6.9 million Brits are considering a career change in 2024.
- 16% wish to do so and start their own venture or become self-employed.
- 21% do not know what steps to take to make a career change.
