Could children spend winter in temporary accommodation?

It’s the first week of December and many of us will be adorning our homes with Christmas cards, festive lights, snow globes and more, but for lots of people the picture of this perfect Christmas is in stark contrast to the reality of their living conditions.

Latest government figures show that 159,000 children will be spending this festive season in temporary accommodation, with many families facing dire living conditions, the highest number on record.

To highlight the bleak and often inadequate conditions that many families are experiencing this Christmas, B&Q is continuing it’s partnership with Shelter, alongside real families, to create alternative snow globe scenes that shatter the illusion of festive perfection. These snow globes are based on true accounts from families living in temporary accommodation.
