FareShare The UK’s largest charity fighting hunger and food waste is launching a campaign to raise awareness of surplus food going to waste and highlighting the increasing numbers of individuals and families at risk of hunger.
The campaign becomes more significant as we’re just a few days into the summer holidays – with many children facing up to six weeks without the safety net of a school meal.
The campaign is to raise awareness around the importance of avoiding food going to waste. Over 2 million tonnes of good-to-eat food is wasted across the UK each year; enough to provide 1.3 billion meals.
