Dick and Dom’s Dom Wood on road safety for children

New analysis of road traffic accident data has revealed the heightened risk posed to young pedestrians on the UK’s roads.

The study by Churchill Motor Insurance found that more than 10,000 primary school-aged children (4-11 years old) have sadly been hit by vehicles since the start of 2017 and up to 2020, amounting to a daily average of seven incidents.

The research shows that children in this age bracket are around a quarter (22 per cent) more likely to be involved in a road traffic accident than the rest of the population.

They’re most at risk during school drop off and pick up times.

Aston spoke to one half of children’s TV presenting duo Dick and Dom Dom Wood.
