Dick & Dom on renting

An overwhelming majority of young renters are losing money from their deposits often for minor household issues, with 75% admitting they had avoided making simple repairs because they didn’t know how to fix them.

Findings show that 71% of tenants aged 18–34 have had money deducted from their deposits for issues such as scuffed walls or a dirty oven.

The research by Google also shows the financial impact is steep, with a third (33%) losing between £500 and nearly £1,000.

With millions of renters facing the stress of vacating their properties, Google has partnered with childhood TV icons and deposit defenders Dick & Dom to launch “Dick & Dom in Da Rented Flat”.
