Do we need to boost our cooking skills?

After the hottest June on record and with a heatwave on the horizon, this summer is set to be a scorcher, and one thing is for sure – it’s time to brush up on our culinary skills.

While we as a nation love to make the most of the sunshine, it appears our hosting abilities don’t quite match up to the task. One in five are entertaining at home more due to the cost of living crisis, but our cooking skills could be holding us back with a third of us (32%) admitting we couldn’t live without our microwave.

The Waitrose Cooking Report 2023 has analysed our skillset and while it turns out we love to cook, that doesn’t necessarily mean we’re all good at it…
