Dom Joly highlighting Christmas Jumper Day

Today marks this year’s Christmas Jumper Day when thousands of Brits will don a festive woolly in support of Save the Children and wear them proudly whether that’s in the office with colleagues, at home with family or at school with friends.

Since launching a decade ago, Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day has raised over £30 million to help transform the lives of children around the world. Now, the campaign is set to reach twice as many children as before, with the UK Government agreeing to double every donation up to the amount of £2 million.

With Brits becoming increasingly conscious of their fashion footprint, and with the cost-of-living crisis continuing to bite, the charity is urging the nation to not purchase new jumpers this festive season but instead choose pre-loved woollies and up-cycled knits in a bid to make this the most sustainable Christmas Jumper Day yet.

Aston spoke to comedian Dom Joly and Gemma Sherrington, director of fundraising and marketing at Save The Children.
