Dr Emeka Okorocha answers common vaccine questions from young adults

Latest stats show that nearly two thirds of 16 & 17 year olds have now received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. To help improve accessibility for the remaining young adults, from tomorrow, the NHS National Booking Service will soon be open for 16 and 17 year olds.

To coincide with this opening, Love Island Contestant and medical student Priya Gopaldas and TV Doctor, Dr Emeka Okoroacha have come together in a new short piece of content to answer some of the most common questions from young adults about the vaccine. Between them, Dr Emeka and Priya explain how vaccines are the way out of this pandemic and are the best ways to protect everyone from the virus. They also address questions around side effects and highlight that COVID-19 can affect anyone, regardless of their age

According to new research, almost half (47%) of 16-17-year-olds surveyed agree that the main reason for getting the vaccine is to help protect their friends and family members. Reassuringly, almost 4 in 5 (79%) of those who have had, booked or intend to book their vaccine also feel positive about it.
