Ellie Simmonds on supporting grassroots sports
As winter approaches and energy costs continue to increase, communities across the UK are facing increasing pressure to keep their local sports clubs open.
New research shows that 86% of grassroots sports clubs say reducing energy costs is “hugely important” this winter, while energy bills remain one of the top three major challenges threatening their ability to continue operating. Alarmingly, two in five publicly owned sports facilities are at risk of reducing their operating hours due to rising costs.
Paralympic champion Ellie Simmonds is lending her voice to highlight the urgent need for sustainable solutions to protect the future of grassroots sport.
