F1 update – Belgian GP
Round 13 of the 2025 Formula 1 World Championship was held at the Spa-Francochamps Circuit in Belgium for the Belgian Grand Prix.
McLaren’s Oscar Piastri over took his team mate Lando Norris on the very first racing lap of the race to claim his sixth win of the year. Norris did settle for second in his McLaren whilst Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc completed the podium in third.
Belgian GP – top 5
- 1st: Oscar Piastri – McLaren
- 2nd: Lando Norris – McLaren
- 3rd: Charles Leclerc – Ferrari
- 4th: Max Verstappen – Red Bull
- 5th: George Russell – Mercedes
Other highlights:
- The safety car was used for the first 4 laps of the race due to too much standing water following a downpour of rain which initally delayed the start of the race.
- Ferrari’s Sir Lewis Hamilton put in a driver of the day performance by finishing the race in seventh after starting the race from the pitlane.
- There were no retirements in this race with Racing Bull’s driver Isack Hadjar the only driver not to finish on the lead lap.
News:
- The second Formula 3 race at Spa was abandoned due to poor weather conditions.
- Audi have announced their title sponsor which is techology company Revolut.
The next round of the 2025 Formula 1 World Championship will be held at the Hungaroring in Budapest, Hungary for the Hungarian Grand Prix on 1st to 3rd August.
