Round 21 of the 2023 Formula 1 World Championship was on the streets of Las Vegas for the Las Vegas Grand Prix, it was also the penultimate round of this years championship.
For the eighteenth this year Red Bull’s Max Verstappen took victory despite having a 5 second penalty for forcing another driver of the track at the start of the race, Ferrari’s Charles Leclerec finished second with Sergio Perez finishing third in the second Red Bull.

- 1st: Max Verstappen – Red Bull
- 2nd: Charles Leclerc – Ferrari
- 3rd: Sergio Perez – Red Bull
- 4th: Esteban Ocon – Alpine
- 5th: Lance Stroll – Aston Martin
Other highlights:
- Mercedes’s George Russell was given a 5 second penalty for colliding with Red Bull’s Max Verstappen which meant he dropped from fourth to eighth in the final race classification.
- McLaren’s Lando Norris would crash out on lap 3, the accident bought out the safety car, Norris was also sent to a local hospital for precautionary checks which he was declared fit.
- Haas’s Nico Hulkeberg would retire on lap 46 with engine failure and Alpha Tauri’s Yuki Tsunoda would retire on lap 47 with gearbox failure, however both would be classified in the race results as they both completed 90% of the race distance.
- There were 99 overtakes completed at the Las Vegas Grand Prix with Mercedes’s Lewis Hamilton completing the most with 15 overtakes.

- Alpha Tauri are set be rebadged as Racing Bull’s in 2024 despite having 2 new title sponsors.
- Mercedes reserve driver Mick Schumacher will race in World Endurance Championship in 2024, but will continue in his role as Mercedes reserve driver.
- Business software giant SAP have announced that they will enter into a multi year partnership with Mercedes starting from 2024.
The next round of the 2023 Formula 1 World Championship will take place at Yas Marina Circuit in Dubai for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on 24th – 26th November, it is also the final round of this years championship.
