First elimination of Strictly Come Dancing 2025 takes place

Strictly Come Dancing this past weekend had it’s first elimination of the series and all 15 couples took to the dancefloor for their second dances of the series. The scores from judges last week were combined to get their total across the 2 weeks.

Topping the judges leaderboard on the night was actress Alex Kingston and her dance partner Johannes Radebe scoing 31 out of 40 from the judges for their samba. But on combined scores it was 2017 Love Island winner & stage actress Amber Davies and her dance partner Nikita Kuzmin topping the combined scores with a score of 56 out of 80 across the 2 weeks from the judges.

This year there is a new feature which sees a different judge given the power each week (except for the final) to have the casting vote in the dance off in case there is a tie (2 – 1 being the tie) which this past weekend the power went to Motsi Mabusi.

The first dance off of the season was between former Apprentice star Tommy Skinner and his dance partner Amy Dowden and former Rugby player Chris Robshaw and his dance partner Nadiya Bychkova. The judges unamionously voted to save Chris meaning that Tommy has become the first celebrity to be eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing 2025.
