Formula 1 cars will be racing at Imola from the 16-18th April 2021 for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix. The Autodromo Enzo E Dino Ferrari is a 3.050 mile circuit located in Imola, Italy and includes some very famous corners which include: Tamburello, Acque Minerali and Rivazza. Imola will be remembered by many motorsport fans for the black weekend in 1994 following the death of two notable F1 drivers. Austria’s Roland Ratzenberger driving for Simtek crashed during qualifying at Villeneuve and three time F1 world champion Ayrton Senna driving for Williams crashed during race on lap 7 down at the notorious Tamburello.

Imola was reprofiled in 1995 with Chicanes being added at Tamburello and Villeneuve to slow the cars down following the death of Senna and Ratzenberger. This was a move to improve the safety of motor racing.

Indycar:

Barber Motorsport’s Park in Birmingham, Alabama will open the 2021 Indycar season on Sunday 18th April 2021. Former F1 driver, Romain Grosjean, and seven time Nascar cup series champion, Jimmie Johnson will both be making their debuts in the sport and will race on road and street courses. Three time Australian V8 Supercars champion, Scott McLaughlin will be the other third notable debutant and will contest the full season which includes: street and road courses as well as oval’s.
