Future for important Essex art collection secured

Harlow Art Trust (HAT) and The Foundation for Essex Arts (TFEA) recently shared the news that the future has been secured for an important collection of artworks. The BAT (Basildon Arts Trust) Collection comprises 62 artworks including paintings, drawings, prints and one sculpture. TFEA approached Harlow Art Trust and following discussions,we are pleased that the artworks have found a new home in the Gibberd Gallery.

Trevor Harwood, Chair of The Foundation for Essex Arts:

“The Foundation Trustees are very grateful to the Harlow Art Trust for agreeing to preserve and protect the BAT Collection intact so this important collection, with its many beautiful works can be enjoyed alongside theirs and will be available for appropriate loans at their discretion. Whilst we are sad TFEA is to cease, we are also proud of our achievements with our education work and setting up of a Bursary which will continue to be administered by University of Arts London, benefitting disadvantaged students from Basildon and Essex more widely.”

Aston spoke to Liz Grant, trustee at The Foundation for Essex Arts.
