GCSE Result Days: are leavers from state schools less satisfied with careers?

As GCSE results land today, a startling new study from Saatchi & Saatchi on the job market reveals that 62% of Brits are not in the careers they once dreamed of, with 31% outright regretting their career choices.

The research highlights deep dissatisfaction across the workforce and exposes flaws in the education system’s ability to prepare young people for the realities of today’s job market.

The study paints a bleak picture of career satisfaction in the UK. While only 56% of respondents report being satisfied with their current jobs, a significant 62% are not working in the fields they aspired to during their GCSE (or equivalent) years.

Aston spoke to Sarah Jenkins, chief operating officer at Saatchi & Saatchi.
