Holiday firms trying to reassure travellers fearing lack of snow for their ski trips

New research has found the cost of living is having a big impact on when people are booking their winter sports holiday. Club Med’s annual ski report has found many people in the UK are opting to book earlier with the aim of securing lower rates.

Fearing the impact of ever rising inflation, the report finds two thirds (67%) of skiers and snowboarders booked their getaway nine months in advance, compared to 59% in 2022. 61% also say they’re more likely to go all-inclusive to further avoid mounting costs.

With financial pressures mounting for many people, it’s no surprise that when booking a winter sports holiday, almost half of those surveyed consider value for money (45%) to be the most important factor. Europe came out on top for ski destinations considered best value, with France (37%) leading the way.

Aston spoke to Nicholas Bresch, Club Med’s managing director in UK, Ireland & Nordics.
