International Day of Play

Play is one of the most powerful and fundamental forces in life and us Brits can’t get enough of it.

New research from the charity Right to Play reveals that over half (54%) of us miss how much we used to play when we were younger, with 55% agreeing that some of our fondest memories of school involve playing with friends.

Skipping has been voted the nation’s favourite playground game (31%), closely followed by ball games (28%) and catch (23%). Swinging and see-saws did well with 21% of the female vote, with 20% of men electing cops and robbers.

Aston spoke to Gillian McMahon from Right to Play UK.
