Is 90s culture making a comeback?
With Oasis set to tour for the first time in 16 years (4th July) Some Might Say we’re set for a nineties nostalgia renaissance in the UK this summer with 90’s fashion, music, culture returning in a wave of “Cool Britannia”.
And it seems the return of the brotherly love between Oasis frontmen Liam and Noel Gallagher has got many agreeing the 90s is a decade to look back on fondly.
And it’s not just music making a comeback as the findings discovered that almost a third of us (29%) were old enough to enjoy a gin and tonic during their Britpop heyday.
Beyond these headline moments, the findings from Gordon’s Gin also revealed owning CDs (69%), watching Top of the Pops (65%), and watching classic cult TV shows (65%) like The Vicar of Dibley, Absolutely Fabulous and Father Ted ranked high for those with 90s rose-tinted glasses.
Aston spoke to drinks expert & author Helen McGinn.
