Is hybrid working affecting your mental health?

For millions of workers, mixing working in the office and working from home has become the new normal. But while this hybrid working life suits those older workers allowing them a better work/life balance, new research says it is having a negative impact on the mental health and career prospects of younger workers.

New research from the IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) reveals that nearly half of younger workers say hybrid working is making it harder to build relationships with colleagues & managers and over four in ten say their personal and professional development is being restricted by this way of working. As a result, a similar number of young workers say they feel unmotivated in their work

The IOSH – the chartered body and largest membership organisation for health and safety professionals – say more regular and structured meetings with senior managers to help mentor, train and guide younger workers is what is needed.
