James Constantinou reveals our borrowing trends

Just under half of Britons say they think about their finances several times a day, as the cost of living crisis continues to weigh heavily on households across the UK.

New research shows more than a third of people do not feel completely in control of their personal finances. Rising household bills, unexpected expenses and family responsibilities are cited as the biggest influences on borrowing and spending decisions, with many reporting that their disposable income has dropped.

The findings suggest financial resilience remains fragile, with even relatively modest unexpected bills capable of pushing many households towards debt or difficult financial trade-offs.
