James Thie on our love for van drivers
When on the road, it is often difficult to find time or space to rest and recuperate. For many of the UK’s van drivers, who spend several hours a day driving, it can have an impact on their lifestyle and health. Quick food options are sometimes the only choice when on the go, but these are often unhealthy or expensive.
Nearly half of van drivers (43%) say they typically eat in fast-food outlets with nearly 4 in 10 (39%) saying they eat in cafés or coffee shops. Nearly a third (32%) agree there are little to no healthy options at petrol and service stations.
The research from Fiat has also shown the limitations on what and where van drivers can eat. For the drivers who found driving a van for work limits where and when they can eat, 3 in 10 say they don’t know when they will get a lunch break.
