Konnie Huq on Give Back January

We’ve all been guilty of it; a growing stockpile of smartphones, abandoned laptops, several incarnations of blenders, miles of entangled Christmas lights and countless headphones – all lurking in the back of drawers and cupboards the length and breadth of the UK. We change our gadgets almost as often as we buy new clothes. And with the bounty of bargains bagged during the Black Friday sales, through to Christmas presents beneath the tree, it’s a case of out with the old and in with the new – especially when it comes to the latest tech.

Research conducted by Recycle Your Electricals reveals that Britons bought nearly 40 million items of household tech between Black Friday and Christmas, resulting in 4.2 million unwanted electricals left unused and unloved in homes across the UK.

Throughout January, Konnie Huq, alongside home organising guru, Nicola Lewis, aka This Girl Can Organise are encouraging everyone in the UK to get involved in ‘Give Back January’.

Aston spoke to TV presenter and author Konnie Huq.
