It’s common knowledge that pets help us keep both our physical and mental health in shape, assisting us in getting more active and providing emotional support to navigate stressful points in our lives.

New research by Purina Pro Plan has shown that we are opting to spend quality time with our pets. Six in 10 (60%) pet owners enjoy exploring nature with their pets, with exercising (37%), celebrating a special occasion (41%) and having pets join us at social gatherings (19%), all ways in which we are choosing to spend valuable moments with our pets.

The benefits of owning a pet are varied, as over half of pet owners (60%) feel more relaxed thanks to the company of their pets, with other benefits extending to feeling less lonely (55%), more physically fit (44%) and more confident in social situations (19%).
