Lifestyle changes could be key to losing weight
At a time when the Government has announced a £40 million pilot scheme to prescribe weight loss drugs, a recent study suggests the key to losing weight and keeping it off is to get support in building long-term healthy habits.
In fact, three quarters of respondents who received this support said they were still lighter up to three years later, even if they’d stopped attending their slimming group!
The study, led by Slimming World* and published in Clinical Nutrition Open Science, highlights the positive impact of lifestyle changes, such as cooking from scratch, eating fresh healthy foods and being active.
Aston spoke to Prof James Stubbs from University of Leeds and Joe Thompson.
