Listen: ABTA issues advice changes
From (April 2nd), European travellers to the UK will need to have an ETA (Electronic Travel Authorisation) – unless they have a British passport, UK residency or visa.
That means anyone with friends, family, or business associates visiting from abroad will need to check if they need to get an ETA. It currently costs £10 but will rise to £16 on 9 April.
This is the first step in a series of travel changes taking place over the next year in the UK.
Whilst the change is about Europeans travelling to the UK, by the end of next year Brits travelling to Europe will need an ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorisation System).
Aston spoke to Emma Brennan from ABTA.
